My favorite song of the moment is "Stay or Leave" by the Dave Matthews Band. I haven't actually heard the album version yet; I'm listening (over and over and over again) to the song as performed at Bonnaroo 2004. (I was there!) (That's irrelevant, though.)
So in preparation for Bonnaroo, I made a he-uge playlist of Elvis Costello songs for my EC-ignorant friends. At about the same time, Chris hooked me up with a he-uge playlist of Dave Matthews songs. For a while there I was listening to both at the same time, on shuffle; I enjoyed the dichotomy, one singing about making love outside, and sweat, and dancing; the other singing about betrayal, and regret, and jealousy.
Then for some reason I noticed "Stay or Leave," and fell in love with it. Listened to it over and over again on repeat. It's perfect: it's Dave Matthews singing about a wrenching breakup. I love it.
