Man, I'm in a really cranky mood today. I have been since I woke up; I must have been having a frustrating dream. All I want to do is leave work and grump around and be lazy and selfish. Well, more lazy and selfish than I am on a regular basis.

So you know what I did? I fixed a CSS file associated with the photos from last year's birthday party. It needed a three-letter correction. That's it. Three letters. This page has been languishing on my website, un-linked-to, for almost a year because of three stupid letters. I -- I don't even know. I'm an idiot? I'm neurotic? Somewhere around there.

Anyway, here are the aforementioned pictures. It is a blast from the past. Also it is an awful lot of Hawaiian shirts.

P.S. I need to learn to edit myself. There are way too many pictures of just . . . people looking at the camera. Nice, but not interesting. Blah. I'll do better next time.

What's going on with the thing on the stove? That looks like mac n' cheese.

I understand the grump factor. That's why I think we need a color-coded balloon system to tie to the back of our chairs at work. Red balloon = Don't even try fucking with me. You will pull back a stump. Green = Come on in, and yes, please do tell me about what your new baby did last night.

It's mulled wine!

The final step is to stack sugar cubes on a rack over the pot, pour warmed brandy over the cubes, and then light them on fire. Then you ladle the wine over the flaming sugar until it all melts into the wine. Exciting AND delicious!

I think that people at work (and elsewhere) think I'm moody, but I'm like, isn't *everyone* moody? Sometimes you're in a great mood and other times you just want to be left alone. Big deal. Just leave me alone right now, and we can have a nice chat when I'm feeling better.

Don't you pretty much always want to be left alone at work? No matter how great of a mood I'm in, I never think to myself "Gee, I wish some random cofuckingworker would stop by my desk so we can chat".

Not everyone is as Negadelphia as you are, Vince! I pretty much like everyone with whom I work, at least some of the time, if not most.

LOL I'm a black woman in a mini-skirt with a stiletto!? That's disturbing. It's true, very few people are as consistently negative as I am. I'm not necessarily the most negative person in the room at any given time, but over the long haul my average is WAY more negative than anyone's. I miss Angry Jeff.

Anyway, good job on the pics. I love looking at collections of pics a year or more after they were taken, it's cool to remember what everyone looked like. You've reminded me I've got a bunch of stuff I need to get onto my LJ scrapbook. What image editing software do you use, and does it have any scripting features that let you automatically resize and compress a whole folder of pictures at once? All my stuff is at a huge resolution and each one is like a MB.

I think you can use PhotoShop to edit things in a batch. You edit one photo in the way you want (e.g. resize, sharpen, save for web at compression of 60, or whathaveyou) and then tell it to edit a batch in the same way. I've never done it so I don't know the exact steps, but I've heard people discuss it many times, so I know it's possible. I can probably hook you up tonight.

You're not necessarily Uhura in the mirror universe, but you are all "get back Sulu or I will cut you."

Holy Moses that's a lot of pictures! Also, Girl with Awesome Hair is named Celeste. I was SO DISAPPOINTED that I didn't find a Hawaiian shirt that day when Sean and I went shopping. So...I guess I decided to hide my shame behind the bangs of doom. DAMN.

Heh, yeah, I since learned Celeste's name, but I didn't go back and change the text I wrote last March. (There are also a lot of "Dave" references in there that are now inaccurate.)

I know, right? Too many pictures. Maybe that's why I don't take as many anymore, I'm editing myself beforehand? Eh.

Man, I fucking love these, and I loved that party! What an awesome theme for an awesome reason and with such an awesome rate of participation. Mind if I steal one of the ones of me for my random rotation on my About page?

And I'm real curious what the three letters were? Were they C-S-S ?

Sure, go ahead!

It was a link color change. So, um, 9C9. I guess it was two numbers and a letter.

I like that we get to see so many people at that party who are not around to come to my parties anymore. You and Tami are in Paris, Jeebes is in California, Jeff is in California, Sean's dead . . . it's so great to see everyone having a good time in Hawaiian shirts together again!
